Kirov and the Kirov Region are an ideal place for studying the Russian language and Russian culture and vocational training in a Russian university.

Kirov has a developed infrastructure in the sphere of education (about 40 institutions of higher and supplementary vocational education). The local community, the city administration and the regional government show profound and keen interest in the development of international relations in the spheres of business and education. A number of educational institutions representing various stages of educational process ( schools, colleges, universities) participate in international programmes and take pleasure in admitting and hosting foreign students. Also there has been founded a Centre of the Russian Language and Culture in Kirov, where these students have their language training.

Kirov was chosen as partner in the NSLI-Y programme by American Councils and has been receiving American students for two years with the help of the Linguistic Centre “Relod” and a few schools.

Kirov (Vyatka) has rich historic past and  highly developed culture. Historical monuments and ancient Russian traditions are carefully preserved here.  Various folk arts and crafts, choirs and dancing groups of the Kirov Region are famous all over Russia and abroad.

At the same time modern tendencies prosper in Vyatka land. A combination of antiquity and modernity is reflected both in the appearance and lifestyle of the whole city and create a special fascination for the kirovites and visitors from other regions and countries. The advantageous geographical position of Kirov contributes to the strengthening of its status not only as an administrative centre, but also as a cultural, scientific, educational, industrial and trading centre.
 
Kirov region comprises a lot of nationalities and confessions and thus it shows a very high level of tolerance to national and cultural differences. In the opinion of compatriots and foreign guests, the inhabitants of Kirov and the Kirov Region are very hospitable and benevolent. Kirov is a quiet and safe city.

A big advantage of Kirov as a place for studying Russian and Russian culture or vocational training in a Russian university is the low prices for high quality education and lower cost of living compared to the capital cities.

All the above mentioned features of our city create an ideal environment for educating foreign citizens in local institutions of higher and supplementary education, and for learning the Russian language and immersing into authentic Russian culture.
