The main activity of the thetre is staging plays for children of all school-ages.

The plays are staged versions of works of Russian and Soviet writers, of foreign writers. For little children fairy-talesare staged.

Since 2001 a new building of the theatre is being constructed. The building was designed by Bortsov Vitaly Ivanovich, tel. (8332) 549-779.

The new building of the Puppet theatre is a unique architectural project. The new building of the theatre will be fitted with the most up-to-date equipment. There will be two auditoriums for 306 and 88 seats, dressing rooms for the actors, a spacious lobby, a winter garden, a museum of puppets in the new building. There will also be premises for the maintenance personnel of the dressing workshop, the props workshop, joiner's workshop, etc. The new building of the Puppet theatre will be fineshed in December, 2007, provided there is adequate financing.
